Michael,
What type of information do you have on your George Bancroft? I also have a George Bancroft in my family. My George was married to a Mary Matsinger. They had a daughter named Catherine (possibly spelled Kathryn) born in 1853 died 1926. Could there be a connection to your George Bancroft?
It's been passed down through the generations that we are connected to the famous historian George Bancroft but I don't have any information to back up that the two George's are one in the same. I'm hoping to make that connection.
