correction: I said "seventh" Earl of Oxford: he was in fact the seventeenth... In Streitz's book, Oxford, p151 the case is made that, Robert Devereux 2nd Earl of Essex prob son of Eliz I and Robt Dudley b1566. When Walter Devereux died prob poisoned by Dudley who then married Lettice becoming stepdad to his own natural son... and she Countess of Leicester [pronounced Lester]. p144 Anne Vavasor and 17th Earl of Oxford had son also called Ed more probable father of Eliz Metcalfe. Edward de Vere 17th Earl of Oxford probable son of Elizabeth when she was a 14 year old princess, fathered by Thos Seymoure same year that he fathered Ed's half- sister Mary... both babies born within nine months of each other and, appeared in the household of John de Vere 16th Earl within nine months of his marrying Margery Goulding. Further hard evidence, that, John didn't meet Margery until before the wedding makes it impossible that the babies --either baby--was their natural child... and, of course, the babies could not have been full siblings anyway as they were so close together... p107 that Mary, was the child of Queen Katherine Parr stepmother to Princess Elizabeth Tudor (Henry VIII's widow).
