Neil - Been watching the movie on HBO about John Adams and I went back to the book of John Adams by David McCullough that I read some time back. I wanted to look up Dr Edward Bancroft that was working as a secretary to Benjamin Franklin. In the book on page 201 it said that Dr Edward Bancroft was the first double agent in the Revolutionary War. Then I went on line and found several sources about him and they all said the same thing. I was able to print out a "Descendants of John Bancroft of Lynn, Mass". It is the line of John Bancroft brother of Thomas Bancroft. You got it they had John and Jane as the parents and original Bancroft family. I suggest that you do an online search of "Dr Edward Bancroft" and check this out. Dr Edward Bancroft is the 6th generation of John and Jane on this chart, however it doesn't say who did the research for this chart.
