Milton Bancroft, 1867-1947 ;need help

My Great Grandfather was Milton Bancroft. He was a painter and a Quaker. I have read that he was born in Newton, Mass. I know he ended up settling
in Sandy Springs, Maryland. He died in 1947. He had two sons: John and Thomas. Thomas was my Grandfather. I know little of
them and would be interested in any other info. The family has never been very communicative. Is that a Bancroft trait ?

I also read in a book called "Our Quaker Ancestors" that the Quakers, who for a long time were not well recieved in the New World, Were coming to America through Barbados. According to the book Barbados became a hub of sorts for Quakers. The interesting part is that my father was down there years ago and in his travels around the Island came accross a grave yard with several Bancrofts. There was even a Thomas Bancroft. Well, whady'think of that ?
