My Great Grandfather was Milton Bancroft. He was a painter and a Quaker. He was born in Newton, Mass. and ended up settling in Sandy Springs, Maryland. He died in 1947. He had two sons: John and Thomas. Thomas was my Grandfather. I know little of them and would be interested in any other info. The family has never been very communicative. Is that a Bancroft trait ?
