Looking for the father of Joseph C. Bancroft,
born in New Orleans area 1857, son of Mary Twomey and __ Bancroft. Mary and son in St. Joseph, Tensas parish alone in 1860. She is in KY by 1880, possibly 1870. Joe's obituary in 1920 says " survived by distant relatives in the South". Mary was born in Ireland, and I believe she may be related through my Smiths from IN.
