Hi John, Thank you so much for the information on Joseph Bamford (Jock McAvoy). My great grandmother Margaret Clarinda Bamford was related to him, I will try to find out how, she may have been a cousin, but I am not sure. My grandfather Jack Ogden Sr lost 3 fights to Jock, but family members tell me Grandad should have won one of those fights. My dads cousin Frank had some interesting stories to tell of those boxing days and how the "ladies" of the family were as tough as the men. If you can fill me in on any other Bamford relatives of Jock, maybe I can find out how Great grandma was related. Margaret Clarinda was born in 1888 approx, was married 9-21-1907 St Matthews Church Chadderton to Jack Ogden Sr. She had three daughters and five sons. She died in 1949, Whiteheath Worcs.
