My father James Bamber born 1889-1948. His father, my grandfather was William Bamber. The 1881 Census shows James Bamber 48 yrs his wife Mary 47 and 8 children. William, my grandfather, 21 yrs, James 19, both born in Whittle. The other 6 born in Chorley, Samuel 16, David 14, John 8, Benj 8 (twins) Mary 7 and Grace 5. This info furnished by English cousin .
