My father James Bamber born 1889-1948. His father, my grandfather was William Bamber. The 1881 Census shows James Bamber 48 yrs wife Mary 47 and 8 children. William, my grandfather 21 yrs,James 19, both born in Whittle. the other 6 born in Chorley, Samuel 16,David 14, John 8, Benj. 8 (twins) Mary 7,Grace 5. This info furnished by an English cousin. In 1961 contacted Myra Bamber in Chicago, widow of George Thomas Bamber he had 2 bros. Thomas G. and James T. Bamber.They were all sons of James G. Bamber,who was 1 of 12 or 13 children all girls but 2, and grandsons of George Thomas Bamber(Same name as Myra's husband.)Grandpa George born in England, came to the U.S. landed in Milwaukee, a Bridge builder. Later homesteaded in Alexandria, S.D. and buried there. Margaret
