JAMES EDWARD OWNBY was born near Richmond, Virginia, Jan. l2, l846, and departed this life at Decatur, Iowa, March l4, l922, aged 76 years, 2 months and 2 days.

MR. OWNBY came to Decatur with his parents in l855, and lived there continuously until the time of his death. He was united in marriage to SALLIE T. HAYWOOD on January 2, l870, and to this union were born three children, ANNA, BESSIE and JAMES. ANNA preceding him in death on May 27, l898. He leaves to mourn his death, his devoted wife, one daughter, MRS. BESSIE BAMBER, of Crosby, Wyoming, a son, JAMES OWNBY, of Ames, Iowa, one sister, MRS. ANNA E. ROWELL, of Afton, Iowa, two nieces, MRS. NELLIE WHARTON, of Des Moines, and MISS BESSIE ROWELL, of Afton, and one nephew, JR. J.W. ROWELL, of Leon, Iowa, together with a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at Decatur on Thursday, conducted by Rev. H.L. Olmstead, Pastor of the Leon Christian Church. Interment being in the Decatur Cemetery.
A CARD -- We wish to thank the friends and neighbors who so kindly rendered assistance and sympathy during the illness of our husband and father.
