Robert,

I have been doing research on the Balzer's from Racine Wisconsin. Recently looked at the 1900 census for Wisconsin and thought there was only 1 family in Racine at that time. However, I may be mistaken.

The family I am researching is Mathias Baltzer who immigrated to Racine in 1887. He and his wife Anna belonged to St. Marys Church with their US children baptism records listed below.

Baptized records: John Jacob b 6/8/1892, bap 6/12/1892
Joseph Max b 11/29/1893 bap 12/7/1893
Viola Francis b 1/19/1898 bap 1/30/1898
Lauretta Elizabeth born 10/27/1900, bap 11/11/1900
Catherine Viola b 5/1/1902, bap 5/5/1902
Marie Leona b 8/3/1905 bap 8/27/1905

The correct spelling of last name is Baltzer. However, when Mathias moved to US, used Balzer as spelling
and in fact his children were baptized as Balzer.

Mathias was my maternal great grandfather.

Rob Peters
