A good place to find genealogical information on Switzerland are the "Swiss Genealogy on the Internet" web sites
http://www.eye.ch/swissgen/schweiz-en.html
and it's mirror sites. Part of this is the volunteer Swiss Surname Directory. I'm one of the volunteers on this project and I recently entered data on the Balzer/Balzar/Baltzar/Cabalzar surnames into the database.
This was prompted when I corrected an error I had in my genealogy, then investigated the ancestry of that corrected person. On one line I'm descended from Bartli Baltzar of Schiers, also in Graubünden.
Remember that many families were previously found in towns beyond where they currently hold citizenship (no Balzars with citizenship at Schiers at this time, for example).
