Glad that info helped. If you find anything out about Joseph marring twice, and whether Joseph Sr. or Joseph Jr. was the father of Atkison Cracraft, I'd sure like to know. Do you have access to the LDS Geneological Library?
Josephs' father was George Jacob Baltzell, b. 5/08/1743in Germany (who may have been a Sgt in Rev War that was wounded at Germantown - I found a muster book once in the Library at Oregon State University, but failed to note the title and have been unable to find the book again). George Jacobs father was John (or Hans)Jacob Baltzell b.1711 in Klingenthal, Alsace, Germany. John Jacobs father was Benedict Baltzell b. 1658? - Where Baltzells came from before that I haven't heard.
