Are you still out there, George? I am tracing the evolution of the land known as "Eightropp", "Eightrup", or "Atrup". At one point, it was in the possession of my ancestor, Richard Perkins I. I believe he got it from his wife, Mary, about 1690. Mary seems to have been related to the Utie family, who were related to the Gouldsmiths and Haslewoods. And Henry Haslewood Sr. seems to have been a partner of Thomas Griffith, the man for whom the land was surveyed about 1668.
The original tract seems to have been part of 1000 acres, including parcels known as "Mt. Araratt" and "Islands". "Atrop was 550 acres, then 500 acres, I think I found it as 300 acrs, etc. By time Richard Perkins II owned it, it was two parcels, of 32 and 75 acres - if what I am finding is to be believed.
I have no indication of religion of any sort for my Perkins, though their in-laws seem to have been part of St. George's Parish, which was Angelican. I notice you are tracing Catholic ancestors, and the parcel called "Paradise" shows up in your research. Richard Perkins I also owned a tract by that name. Hmmmm.
I am told my ancestors' land was pretty much where Aberdeen Proving Grounds are now located.
