I have been researching the BALMER/PALMER/PALMORE line a lot since last summer. I've researched them in Stark Co., OH, Maryland, & PA. I've gotten a lot more info but none that helps me verify my ancestors. This I know to be true: My great grandmother was Cora Etta PALMER, b 1867, Stark Co., OH; d 1929, Stark Co., OH, the daughter of Jeremiah PALMER, b 1846, Sugar Creek, OH; d 1928, Stark Co., OH; m Margaret BUCHTEL, son of John PALMER, b 1820, Washington Co., MD; d 1903, Stark Co., OH; m Lucinda STRAUSSER; son of Jacob PALMER/BALMER, b 1789, MD; d 1865, Stark Co., OH; m Ellen "Nellie" BOYER. Before that I'm lost. I've been told that Jacob's father was either Peter or Daniel who's father was Michael Christian who had brothers or cousins who came over with him way back when. I was back in Jackson Twp., Stark Co., OH this past summer. I went to the graveyard where most of the PALMER/BALMERs are buried. First I visited the church down the street from it. They were very nice but no one had a clue as to where historical papers for the church or graveyard might be located. They directed me to the North Canton Historical Society. They do not have papers connected to the church either. I've BEEN MEANING TO get in contact with the Stark Co. Historical Society and ask them what they might have that pertains to the BALMER/PALMERs. A few PALMERs and friends moved on to Indiana eventually.
