Doreen, Thank you for your reply. I did change e-mail addresses this summer and didn't even think about changing it here. I was excited to finally see that someone had responded to my query. I have seen the name Boden spelled Bowden many times in my searching; it could very well be the same family. However, the James I am searching was supposedly born in 1838. I don't that he could have been baptized in 1835 but I also realize that the date given in the obit may be inaccurate. Also listed in the obit. are 4 surviving sisters. Unfortunately they are listed only as "mrs." and the surname. The 2 that lived here in Michigan I was able to find in census records because it said in the obit. where they lived. One was named Elizabeth Lathers (hus.Robert)and one was Ellen Hamilton (hus. William) There were 2 listed as living in Ireland at the time of James' death. (Feb. 1911) A Mrs. McKensie and Mrs. Guning. One other "tip" is that James' first child was a son that he names William. (possibly after his father?) The child died at the age of four. They had four daughters after that. Maybe this info. will help. Do you have any tips on how to research records there? Thank you Liz Notify Administrator about this message?
