I have endeavoured to send you the following message at your email address, but it has been returned twice - so here goes:
I notice on the Ballywalter genforum that you are researching the Bowden family - well I think I may be able to help.
Some of us in the Family History Society have been transcribing church records in the Ballywalter area for the use of our members in their research. There are many BOWDEN (no Boden) families in the Ballywalter Presbyterian churches records, but one caught my eye which may be the one you are seeking.
The registers don't always include birth date, but it shows a James Bowden baptised in 2nd Ballywalter Presbyterian on 5 May 1835. His parents were William and Betty (Elizabeth) SYTHE and the family resided in Ballyobegan - his father was a labourer.
There are other children shown with the same parents, but sometimes the father's occupation is given as Shoemaker.
