I'm searching for more information on my g-g-grandfather, Thomas Gaw (b. 1818 d. 1903)who was a farmer from Ballywalter. He was married to Agnes Bowden and their family is buried in Balliggan Graveyard. His two sons James Andrew Bowden Gaw and William Bowden Gaw (my great-grandfather) arrived in America sometime around 1885. I believe another son, David Gaw, also came to America and died in Kansas City in 1888. In old family letters, there was also a sister mentioned by the name of Maggie, and the witness on Thomas' death certificate is listed as his daughter Lizzie McDappin (McCappin).
I would love to hear of anyone in the Ballywalter area who is familiar with my Gaw family or could help me fill in information about the parents of Thomas Gaw or Agnes Bowden. I understand there are many Gaw families still in the Ballywalter area, I would really enjoy hearing from you!
