Charles BALLUFF & Louisa STEINER WI to IL 1860-1900

Just found Charles BALLUFF, married to a Louisa who is apparently a ggaunt of mine. I've been hunting STEINERS for several years now. Charles and Louisa are in Milwaukee in 1860,living with the STEINER family, both families from Wuerttemberg. Louisa's father Edward applied for emigration (see Wuerttemburg Index) in 1856 and I assume came to the Milwaukee area that same year. (My gggrandmother Frederika STEINER and several sisters followed ten years later.) In 1870 this BALLUFF family was in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and in 1880 in Chicago where Charles died in 1890 and Louisa in 1899. Lost of daughters, two sons that I know of--John and August.

Does this ring any bells out there? Would love to find descendants of this pair.

Karyl
