I'd be interested in talking to you about your Ballengers. I am doing some research for a friend of mine, who descends from John Ballenger and Johnna Gibson. I believe this John is brother to your Chalmers. John is found in the 1900 census records of Yell county, Arkansas, and he and Johnna were married in Mississippi. John's son Walter, named one of his sons Chalmers, and John named his eldest son Howard. Would be happy to exchange what little information I have.
