Isaac Ballengee Civil War soldier
There is a Isaac Ballengee buried in Richmond, Va @ Oakwood Cemetery. He died (of chronic diarrehea) at nearby Chimborazo Hospital.
Isaac enlisted in the Confederate Army from the Winchester, VA area. He was in his early fifties at time of enlistment (1861).
Does anyone have any information as to this Isaac's origins? I have found no connection to the Ballengee's
of Summers County & surrounding areas.
Isaac's grave location is known, but not marked. The
federal govt. will provide a marker for these veterans
free of charge.
Oakwood Cemetery charges a couple hundred dollars to place these markers at the grave.
I would like to see Isaac have a proper marker. Thus
the quest to identify him.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
