You are talking about the Ancestors of Chad Ballard who shot his wife Alicia. His father was Charls ED Ballard who married Dolly and Eds father was James Ballard who married Mary Elizabeth Tussey, according to the book that Chad wrote after the shooting his grandfather Jim was born around 1838. I dont think that the 1st marriage you have here is the same Jim/James Ballard. Besides of which in the 1860 census for Martin co. IN there is a William and Nancy b abt 1795 NC and Ky who fit the parents and James on there is listed as being 20 years old.
Ed Ballard had his fathers remains moved to the ceme where Mary Elizabeth was buried to have his parents together, according to the tombstone dates they were 1838/1909
This is in Orange co. IN.
