Okay, here's one, not my direct line but a puzzle to me:
James M Ballard, son of William Ballard (b: 1792 NC, )and Nancy Clemens (b: abt 1798, KY). I have two possible dates for James birth, 1818, and 1842

BUT the 1850 and 1860 Federal Census have his birth around 1842, and more than one Ancestry family tree has his birth listed as March 12, 1842.
Anyone have a definative answer?
