Over the years, I've met more people with totally wrong info then those with accurate info. I have errors in my research too. Since accounting is my background, errors are a constant irritation to me but I have to deal with too many unknowns. #1 was a child in the Ballard line adopted and not told. #2 Was the mother unfaithful to the Ballard male #3 Did a brother raise the children of his deceased or impoverished family members. On my Robinson side of the family, I'd communicated with one of my "known" cousins. He did his DNA and found out he wasn't a Robinson at all. He didn't match to any of the family. Well, things like that happen. People lie. People give misinformation. Husband's knowlingly and lovingly raise children that aren't theirs. There are so many possibilities. We just keep searching for legal records, and family Bibles. I'm semi retired now but I'm still looking at legal documents found on the internet, such as birth certificates, death certificates, census records. I've served as a central figure in the Ballard family for so long that people send me information and copies of documents when the find it. The most exciting info that surfaced, as you know was Capt. John Ballard's family Bible. That is still happening. I have file cabinets full of legal documents including wills, estate records, copies of family Bible pages. I've got to do something with them and I've got a library under consideration . For now, they are all in a safe place. I think it's good to back away from research for awhile when it's a difficult line, returning to it with a fresh eye later. I've done that several times. Notify Administrator about this message?
