My problem is in deciding which of the four now claiming an ancestry that would have them descended from Thomas Ballard and Anne Thomas is accurate. DNA testing proves beyond doubt that three are erroneous…there are not even similarities in their DNA!
Since I match with Dustin Ballard I tend to believe his ancestry but he has done absolutely NO conventional research on early Ballards and relies completely on that of Chester Nash so that may be “wishful thinking.” I have confirmation of his more recent lineage and even believe I have his photograph.
I’ve been unable to tie others of Lineage I to either my own line or Dustin’s except for Larry Dean, known to be my 2C2R*.
Charles Ballard has posted his purported ancestry on Ancestry.com but he relies completely on family trees from the Internet and you well know how hazardous that is. He also has some “impossible” dates of birth and death.
I don’t have confirmation of the names of the submitters of B-41 or B-43 but an Amy Ballard Writer has a family tree at least similar to B-41 on Ancestry.com as well.
