I am attempting to find information on Thomas Ballard born 1758 d.(1848?), VA to Bland Ballard(b.1735).
I have a letter written by a great-great aunt(Lura Ballard) that her great-grandfather's(possibly great-great) name was Thomas Ballard.
Is it possible that Thomas may be the father of John Ballard born 1772, Amherst or Campbell Co, VA. John was married to Nancy or Mary Goolsby in 1801. I am theorizing that Thomas Ballard above may be our missing link.
I believe John to be the father of Samuel Goolsby Ballard (b. 1808 Amherst, VA d. 1875 Amherst, VA). This Samuel G. Ballard is father to William A. Ballard b. Campbell Co. 1832 d. 1903, Bristol, Washington Co, VA. William is father to Bland Eugene Ballard (b. 1873). This Bland is my great-grandfather. Source is : History of Virginia (1924) American Histroical Society Volume 6 pg. 253 - entry for Bland E. Ballard.
1)If not this Thomas Ballard, does anyone have any information on the parents John Ballard b.1772 Amherst or Campbell Co, VA. Married 1801 to Nancy or Mary Goolsby.
2)Does anyone have any information on a Ballard Family bible last in the possession of Margaret Ballard of Bristol VA in 1976. Margaret is the daughter of Bland Eugene Ballard(b. 1873 Abingdon, VA d. 1951, Washington Co, VA).
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.
I saw some older posts. No need to duplicate that information. Just hoping for a new lead.
