I don't have any proof to offer, because I haven't worked on this family yet, but I do have the family as part of the New England Ball Project with his five sequential wives and six known children. Daniel is at: http://www.newenglandballproject.com/p311.htm#i35769 All of that data came from the "BigEd" website that has been dormant for years; I have an authorized copy of the GEDCOM that has been cleaned and expanded on my Project website. The file card for Daniel Ball from the collection of the late Dr. Joseph Druse lists a number of references, but does not specify what each reference provided. The key ones include: NJ wills for his will dated 23 July 1819 and probated 6 Feb 1829. There are several references to the New Jersey Genealogical Magazine: vol 44 p. 17 and p. 65 and vol 45 p. 18. Then there are references to DAR records, which are less likely to directly provide proof, but might list more primary sources. I suspect that the work on this family needs to be re-done from original Hanover NJ records, if they still exist. All that said, take a look at what is on the Project website and contact me directly to exchange data on your branch of the Newark Ball family.
