Hi Sally,
I just found my GGGrandparents Michael and Catherine Bale. They were from Ireland but settled in Illinois for awhile before moving on to Iowa. Their first son, John, born in Rockford Co. Illinois July 10, 1853. Do you perhaps have this family in the Bale History Book that you mention.

There are also German connections---
John married Mary Donnely in Jasper Co. Iowa. Their son Leo P. Bale married Dora Bunse, whose parents, Fred and Henrietta (Flamma) Bunse were both from Germany. The father born in Helminghausen and mother born in Stormbraugh. Do you have these people in the book.

Thank you for posting and offering to share what you have. If these are listed or written about, would you please share with me. I will gladly pay copying expenses or if you are able to scan and e-mail, that's good also.
Sincerely Bonnie Bale Todd
