I am researching my family history and came across your forum. Despite a couple of generation gaps, I believe some of my ancestors may have lived/worked at GRAVEL CASTLE in Barham in 1841 (ref: census). They were JOHN BALDOCK (30), his wife SUZANNA/SUSANNAH (nee NEWING; 20) and their
newly-born son, DANIEL (2mnths).
Daniel was born on 28th March 1841, later married a SARAH KNIGHT(Dover), had three children, CHARLOTTE ANN, DANIEL Jr, and JOSEPH, and died on 16th November 1912 (Eastry).
Other information I have found today has found siblings to Daniel. But I am seeking to know whether there is a link to my grandad, ERNEST DANIEL BALDOCK b. 11 Jan 1907. I believe his father was called JOSEPH. My grandad also had brothers WALTER ALFRED b.5 Aug 1903, PERCY WILLIAM JOSEPH b. 25/26 July 1900 and another brother JOHN (THOMAS?) ?b. 19 Nov 1901.
If I can find a link to the two Baldocks, and maybe to work you guys have already done, my day (first!) will be packed with information already!
And I thought Baldock was a rare name!!
