A Thomas BALDOCK married Elizabeth AUSTEN in Faversham 11 Feb 1833. The PR states, both of this parish although from the 1851 census, Elizabeth was "of Westwell". Witnesses were John AUSTEN and Harriet BALDOCK. Thomas died at Church St, Faversham 15 Jan 1849 aged 41. There were five children,
George 21 Dec 1833,
Edward bef 31 July 1836,
Harriet 11 Mar 1838,
Charlotte Mar qtr 1840,
Elizabeth Dec qtr 1846.
George, Edward, Harriet and Elizabeth sailed for NZ in 1862 on the "Matilda Wattenbach" as part of the non-conformist settlement in 'Albertland' NZ. Mother Elizabeth and Charlotte emigrated a few years later.
Can anyone throw any light on Thomas's parentage?
I have Saint Werburgh Hoo, Maidstone Eastling and Gravesend as possibles.
