Hi,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Ronald Balkcom. I live in Cumberland, RI and am trying to reconcile my Balkcom ancestry. I have some information from my aunt (deceased) who puts my ancestry through a line of Alexander, Alexander, Joseph, Elijah, with a son of Ebenezer born 1789 or 1790 who married Abigail Goff. In doing some research on the web, I came across an Email that was sent from a Steve Balcom to William Pixley detailing the ancestry of Alexander, Alexander, John (wife Sarah Grover), Samuel, with same son of Ebenezer born 1789,1790 with same marrigage. I noticed from your posting that you are related to John. Would you be able to clear this up. It seems to conflict with a source from the Attleborough, Ma library of GENEOLOGY of the BALKCOM or BALCOM family which claims that Ebenezer was the son of Eliza and Mary Daggett. I have not had a chance to get a copy or research another source entitled FIRST BOOK of the BALCOMBE FAMILY by Frank W. Balcomb published by the Fraedy Press, Peabody Ma 1942. Could this by another source? My half-brother George Trager (since deceased) of California did some research in late eighties and early nineties on family tree and was puzzled by this conflict. I until now have not had time to explore but am curious now that I am semi-retired and have more time to search my roots. Any info you have will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
