Hello Marsha,
I believe we are researching the same Balcon family. I have a James L. Balcom b. July 6, 1873 and married Roxie Henbest b. abt. 1878. Their children were Octavia b. abt. 1901, James A. b. abt. 1904, Joseph b. abt. 1906, Ruth b. abt. 1907, Roxanna and Junanita b. abt. 1914 died abt. 1916 buried in Whitter, Ca. If this is your family, I can give you more information.
