I just replied to a couple of messages on this forum and hope someone can help me shed light on Henry.
Henry Balcom born 14 May 1805 in Connecticut and died 03 Feb 1873 Cayuga Co, NY. He married 01 Oct 1829 to Elsie Huffman born abt 1812 PA died aft 1886 Cayuga Co, NY, daughter of John Huffman & Phebe Moore. Henry & Elsie are my gr-gr-gr-grandaunt & uncle. I cannot determine who Henry's parents are. He is in Cayuga Co, NY in 1830 census. He married Elsie 01 Oct 1829, probably in Cayuga Co, NY. Elsie's line comes from Luzerne Co, Pennsylvania and her father came to Cayuga Co, NY sometime after the death of Elsie's mother in 1824 but before 1830. Both Henry & Elsie are buried in Conquest Cemetery.
Henry & Elsie only had two children, John Henry Balcom whose detail can be found elsewhere on this forum at <http://genforum.genealogy.com/balcom/messages/248.html> and Sarah E. (1833-1895) who married Levi Earl (1833-1894) and remained in Cayuga Co, NY. Sarah & Levi had two daughters.
I was hopeful that the Balcom website at <http://www.go.ednet.ns.ca/~neil/> would help but this Henry Balcom is not found there.
I am seeking additional information on all names in this line. Please e-mail me at ddapra@home.com if you can add to this info or give me any leads to help discover Henry's parents. It would be wonderful to knock down this brick wall!
