The full 37 marker results of our British Balch DNA donor are in,and they definitely indicate a match to our two Tennessee Balch donors as well as our Canadian donor. We do not yet know how these donors all connect to each other, but the DNA says they do, so we're one big, happy, disjointed Balch family right now. We're anxiously awaiting the results of our latest project participant who descends from a Balch line that originated in Devon, England (as far back as he can get them), and then migrated to Glamorgan, Scotland. His particular branch also settled in Canada. We still need to get the New England John Balch line represented as well as more Maryland Balches. A British descendant of the Somerset Balches would also be a coup. Tomorrow is the last day of a sale at one of the major testing companies, so anyone interested should act fast. As you can see in the results table at the following link, what we're looking for is DNA markers that are very similar to one another to form family lines. They don't have to be identical, and usually aren't if connections go back hundreds of years. http://www.janegilbert.org/balchdna.htm Jane Notify Administrator about this message?
