Crystal,
Your father's line traces back to your ggg grandfather John T. Balch of Tennessee and Mississipi and his brother Hezekiah Balch who went down and fought with Houston for Texas Independence. Both their names appear on the San Jacinto monument east of Houston. Both brothers received Texas land grants for their service to Texas. John's land was near Cherino, Texas.
You can trace your family line all the way back to John Balch and Catharine Clellan, our first American settlers in 1658 at Deer Creek, (flows into Susquehanna River), Lord Baltimore's Maryland colony. See our website at www.geocities.com/gbalch431.
If I can provide any information, please contact me by email. gbalch431@sbcglobal.net

Gene
