Your Joseph Bruce was the son of James Washington Balch and Martha Powell. James Washington was the son of John Balch and Nancy Basham. I have much information on this family line and it is included on our Balch Family of Maryland web page, which was at www.geocities.com/gbalch431. However, the web page is no longer accessible and I am attempting to find the problem. Maybe they are out of business. Since Yahoo bought them out they have been a lousy host.
