Gene,
I have found proof that Dorcas is the daughter of Hezekiah B. Balch. Also, court minutes proving that James W. Wyly is her son. My problem now is that the DAR is saying that John Balch was too old to have served in the militia during the Revolution and closed the line. Do you have definite proof that he did actually serve? A member was approved as late as 2000.
