Does anyone have any information about a George T. Balch who was born in Ohio probably about the year 1829?
This George Balch went to West Point, served in The First Sioux War followed by an appointed role in the Civil War(by Lincoln)in the Ordnance department of the Army. George died about April 15, 1894 in New York City.
What I really want to know is:
Who were his parents?
What town was he born in(presumably in Ohio)??
What details about his early life are there available?
