You may also be interested in the book, "Balch Genealogica", by Thomas Willing Balch, published in Philadelphia by ALLEN, LANE, AND SCOTT, in 1907. It covers the Somerset, England origins of the Balch immigrant(s) to America (There may be two), and dwells primarily on the Maryland Balches, as opposed to the Massachusetts Balches. I believe the book may be found in most major genealogical libraries.
