Will of John Balch in 1790 in Mecklenburg Co., NC

I am interested in John Balch who left a will in 1790 in Mecklenburg Co., NC. In the will, he named Sarah Alexander as a daughter. I believe this may be the same Sarah Alexander who appears on the April 13, 1789 Madison Co., KY Taxlist. Sarah's husband Samuel Alexander left a will in 1784 in Mecklenburg Co., NC.

I am posting the will of John Balch as contributed to me by Paulette Haynes. Additionally, I am posting some listings from the Ancestry.com 1790 Reconstucted Census of Kentucky (which is a compilation of several different taxlists) including those references to both Sarah Alexander, John Balch, and William Balch. I believe the individuals named in these two distinct records are the same.

Does anyone know anything about the Balch family of Mecklenburg Co., NC possibly being in the Paint Lick Creek area of present-day Garrard Co., KY (in 1789, it was Madison Co., KY)? I understand this family includes Hezekiah Benjamin Balch, founder of Greenville College in Greenville, TN (today known as Tusculum College).

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

David
