I have another Gloucester County Bakely line. Hopefully, somebody can make a connection and help me to trace it back more. There was a William Bakely who married a woman by the name of Jane (Don’t know her maiden name.) They had a son by the name of miles and possibly a daughter by the name of Rebecca (Not sure about the daughter.) Miles served in Company F of the 4th NJ Infantry with several other Bakely’s in the Civil War. One was a Joseph Bakely another was Charles Bakely. Miles had a son named Washington Lane Bakely with Ann Hawkins. (They never married.) Washington later married Emma P. McCracken and they had three children: Lane, Charles M. and Mary H. (Mary was my grandmother.) Emma died in 1895. Washington married Nancy K. Mitchell and had three children by her: Amy E., Florance (A son) and George M. That is as far as my research has gone. My mother told me that Washington Lane was a stonecutter and his son Charles M. was a funeral director in Vineland. My research has also turned up a William Bakely who was in indentured servant to Gov. William Franklin. I don’t know if this is a connection with all Bakely’s. Any connections or additional information about this line would be appreciated. I can also be contacted at dabrowsw@mccc.edu. Notify Administrator about this message?
