Hi I have a relative called Rev John Bakewell from Bakewell in Derby. He was a presbyterian minister and married Ellen Sadler. His Son William Bakewell married Sarah Hickling on 30.4.1775 at Allestree Derby.He was supposed to be decended from Sir John De Bakewell.

I have this info from a letter an old aunt wrote down in 1928 I've been able to prove everything else she wrote so I'm guessing this is right.

Has anyone else managed to trace the Bakewells back to Bakewell its self?
