When I was 3 years old my parents traveled to HINTON OKLAHOMAto visit his family. I have very vague memories.
There was a field of water mellons.
A lamb chasing me because I had it's feeding bottle.
no genealogy except they lived in the country.
1967 stopped in Hinton, OK searching for clues. Waitress recalled one of her friends dating my uncle who was in jail for rape or moonshine. We left with information about where my grandmother's grilfriend lived. Stopped there.
Woman sat on porch with shot gun handy and a very large dog lying at her feet.
gate was locked. We were not invited in. When i mentioned my dads name she did offer , my grandma went to live with her daughter in Tulsa.
We left discouraged.
My husband's job required a top security clearance.so we let a laying dog ly.
1999 we both retired and I started my genealogy quest.
2008 visited Hinton Cemetery and the funeral parlor
received a name and number of a woman who lived in the area a long time
No--a Baker.who informed me as far as she could tell none of the names I mentioned rang a bell.
I took pictures of head stone of all the Bakers buried in Hinton Cemetery.
Thought I would search each person and see what I could find out.
