The following two deeds were found in Johnston Co. NC possibly in that part that became Wake Co. in 1771:

9 Apr 1763 Thomas Dunagan Sr. of Johnston Co. NC to William Baker of Johnston Co. for L10 200a on the east or lower side of Panther Br parting this from land of said Dunagan and William Cobb to mouth of Watery Br. to Henry Wilson including the plantation whereon the said William Baker now lives s/Thomas x Dunagan, wit: George Renyer? Tennis?, William x Cobb, DB TRS 1, p50.

19 Jun 1769 William Baker of Johnston to Thomas Walton for L5 and a Negro boy 200a east side Panther Br, part of a tract taken up by Thomas Dunigan s/ William x Baker, wit: Thomas x Norris, William x Uttly, DB TRS 1 p308.

The above two deeds were the only early deeds indexed for William Baker.
