You didn't give a time frame, but I took a look at some census records anyway. 1910 Federal Census, S.Pitts, Marion Co, TN: BAKER, John W. age 70, 2nd marriage, married 19 yrs, b. NY, both parents b. NY occ none wife Mary age 55, 2nd marriage, married 19 yrs. 9 children born, 8 living b. TN, both parents b. TN son Russel age 17 b. TN occ Yard Hand/Pipe Shop dau Dany age 15 b. TN occ Knitter/Hosiery Mill dau Ethel age 13 b. TN occ Knitter/Hosiery Mill In 1900, 15th District, Marion Co, TN, John's family is near the bottom of the census page and the bottom left of the page is nearly impossible to read. This is what I can get: BAKER, John W. b. Jan 1840 age 60 m. 27 yrs b. NY. both parents b. NY occ Farm Hand wife Mary b. Jan or June 1850 age 50 m. 27 yrs, 8 children born, 8 living, b. TN, both parents b. TN then there are 3 people whose names and birthdates are completed blotted out, but they appear to be stepsons, ages 20, 18 and 14. The older two are coal miners and the younger one is a farm laborer. Their father was b. in TN There are three younger children, names and birthdates illegible, but they are apparently John's children as their father's birthplace is listed as NY. They are 7,6 and 4 yrs old. I can not find him in TN in 1880. In 1870, in Jasper, Marion Co, TN, there is a 25 yr old John BAKER, b. NY, occ works in coal mine, living in the household of John HOLLAND. Notify Administrator about this message?
