This is probably not the same Jacob Baker, but here is some information about one Jacob Baker whose nephew, at least, was in North Carolina in 1786 or later.

From old family notes at least 60 years old and of uncertain reliability, there was a Jacob Baker ("bachelor") who was born in Heidelberg, Germany, and immigrated as a child apparently before 1714. The latter year is the year of birth for Jacob's brother Abraham, and it is implicit in these notes that Abraham was born in the American colonies. There is no information about Abraham and Jacob's parents.

Abraham and unknown wife had children listed as Jacob, Job, Philip, Arasha, and one daughter. The notes say that Philip was near Mocksville, then in Rowan Co., in 1811 at the time of the birth of his third son.

These notes do not have more geographical information for these persons.
