Base & Baize Variation?

I am looking into my Grandmothers side of the family Helen Grace Base (Baize). She married Gilbert McClure March 17, 1923. She spelled her name Base, but some recent mention of her name spelled it Baize. VERY little is known of her family. She said she came from Chicago and was the daughter of Joseph Base (Baize) and Ann Perry. Joseph died 1945 and Ann 1962.

Helen Grace b. Sep. 21, 1902 in Chicago, d. May 3, 1987 Bethpage, NY. She talked about a sister in Chicago.

I have no other info on her family. Any help out there.
