Hi Pat,
I'm Doug's brother.I recently received information that the Baize name had several variations of the spelling.Supposedly,John A. Baize changed his spelling to Bayes or Bayse as a result of his attempt to disown brother Abednego and sister Anna.Story has it they continued to claim their Indian bloodline through their mother,who was full blooded Cherokee,after their mother and father were killed by raiding Indians.Just thought I'd throw that in FYI.
