Hi. I am also descended from John Baize and Nancy Shultz through their son, Joseph, father of John Thomas, my great-grandfather. According to my uncle the first Baize in this country came to Louisiana in 1720. His name was Pierre D. Baize (or maybe De Baize?). Supposedly John A. Baize migrated from LA to KY in the 1790's. Has any one else heard this story?
