During a recent trip to the library, i was talking with the librarian. It is well documented that Jean Schmidt Baisden was in Virginia at various times.
According to the 1850 Wayne County Virginia Census, he stated that he was born in Pennsylvania.
Is it possible that he said he was from Pittslyvania, Virginia (Amherst County). There are tax records of other Baisdens there during this period.
Just another theory i am putting out there.
